Take a Breath

People in China are divided into 7 grades, geographically, regarding liberty.

The first grade is people in Hong Kong and Macau. Technically, we are Chinese all the same. They are free to visit blogspot and many others.

The second is people from Shenzhen. They are free to visit blogspot and others ONLY WHEN they travel to Hong Kong and Macau, where they have multiple entry permissions on a year-by-year application basis.

The third is people from Guangdong Province. The province is on the F List; also, it is geographically closest to Hong Kong and Macau. Technically, it means same day travel available. (F List - tourist entry permit, it grants permit to enter HK and Macau up to twice within one-year period. You are only allow to renew the permit after the previous permit used up or expired.)

The fourth is people from other provinces on the F List. These are mainly costal areas. However, for these people, travelling to Hong Kong and Macau means immoderate shopping and gambling instead of taking a breath in the freedom of exploring the Internet.

The fifth, people from provinces that are not on the F List, which means, on the L List. The L List only grants group travel once at a time. For many, travelling to HK and Macau is once-in-lifetime. It means sightseeing, shopping and gambling.

The following grade is people never even heard of Hong Kong and Macau. Nor GFW. Nor freedom of speech.

At the bottom is people never knew they have such rights.

It is not the fault of people. They are never told to and, they are still struggling to suvive which is their topmost right.

China is rich but you never know how deep the gap is.
